MLMT 181: Make It Easy To Say Yes

MLM Trigger Episode #181

We talked about a unique marketing technique to build an effective sales funnel. Today we are going to LINK both the Value Ladder and the Sales Funnel.

Competition in any market has forced businesses to come up with new tools to boost their competitive advantages. The Value Ladder was created to help you figure out what MLM products and services you need to add so that your dream customers move from your bait to your high-end services. You might think of it as a TOOL that assists you in directing your consumers to the BEST OFFER for them.

The purpose of a value ladder is to make it easier for people to say YES to doing business with you. It works by creating a low-risk, multi-step for new customers. The credibility can only be created once they have purchased and used your products or services. Once they take the first step, you earn the opportunity to LEAD them up the rest of your value ladder.

The reason to build the value ladder is to build trust and reputation. You break the decision into a smaller size so your potential customers do not need to make a complicated purchase decision. All they need to do is to answer a simple series of Yes or No when they move up the value ladder. The increase in value for each step will not be very big, making it easier for them to say yes.

The psychology behind this is to break the decision into small decisions, so you can guide someone to do what you want by asking them questions with the simple answers of YES - NO. Never underestimate the power of small decisions.

Now it’s time to bridge the gap between a Value Ladder and a sales funnel.

The sales funnel supports the development of the value ladder. You develop several types of sales funnels to sell every kind of offer on each step of the value ladder.
The value ladder provides many value tiers at different price points, from low-priced to high-priced products.

So instead of trying to entice someone to buy the most expensive offering right away, like your MLM opportunity, you build a funnel that will help you do two things

Provide value to each customer at the unique level of service that he or she can afford. Make money and be profitable while identifying your dream customers who can afford your MLM offer.

A funnel moves people through the sales process. A sales funnel is the visualization of a multi-phase journey where a casual observer is transformed into a loyal buyer. Every customer goes through a buying journey, one that goes from never having heard of you to being a satisfied and hopefully long-term customer. They enter as prospective customers (traffic) and your job is to convert as many as possible into repeat customers.

A simple description of a funnel is like… above the funnel you will have all of your potential customers. At the top of the funnel is the “bait” that will attract your dream customers. This bait is the first level of the Value Ladder. As you start featuring your bait, potential customers will start raising their hands, and a certain percentage of those people will purchase your frontend offer.

Then they will move to the next step of the funnel. Here you will introduce the next product or service in your Value Ladder. This will be something offering MORE value, while also costing more money. Unfortunately, not everyone who purchases your bait will also purchase this more expensive product, but a certain percentage of those people will.

From there, you move deeper into the funnel and introduce the next product or service on your Value Ladder. Again, not everyone will buy this product, but a percentage of the customers who initially took the bait will.

Continue to do this through all the levels of you Value Ladder and at the bottom of this funnel, a handful of people will appear who can afford—and may be willing to purchase—your MLM opportunity. These are your dream customers, the ones you want to work with.

Your sales funnel lays out a clear roadmap for how a lead navigates through the buying journey and therefore your sales pipeline also. Every product you sell online has a sales funnel that you take each people through. In fact, immediately after the customer buys something, they are offered an up-sell before they leave the page. Remember, the goal of a sales funnel is to transform total strangers into loyal customers.

But after they have purchased something from you, you can use other types of communication funnels to build a relationship and encourage them to purchase other products and services that you sell. Every product you sell should have its own sales funnel to provide value and convert the buyer into a higher-end customer.

Let’s Review:

A sales funnel is just the online process you take someone through to get them to ascend through the different levels of your Value Ladder. This formula will help you find your dream customer, offer them your bait, and lead them to where you want them to go— all while providing the customer value and making you money.

The top producers in MLM don't make a list of 200 people, don't do home meetings or anything like that. They use something equivalent of a sales funnels.
