MLMT 184: How To Lead Your Customer To Take Action
MLM Trigger Episode #184
We talked about the different types of website traffic and today let’s go into the sales funnel communication strategies
How communication GUIDES customers through the sales funnel?
Communication is the most important element of marketing. And how we speak to our network marketing audience actually is the content that shapes the sales funnel.
The only way to truly take advantage of that connection is to tailor it to the different stages of the sales funnel.

Communication isn’t just providing step-by-step directions that guide a customer from Point A— when they first discover your product to Point B— the purchase decision.
You want layer your message by providing value to the reader and also pointing out the benefits that lead them down through the entire MLM sales funnel. And this can be done on AUTOMATION.
What is the distinction between a marketing piece at the top of your funnel and the sort of content you create for people at the other stages of the sales funnel?
As someone moves along their buyer’s journey, they will gain a new understanding of your products and even the MLM industry. They develop new expectations for their interactions with you. So your goal is to ensure that the content meets their expectations.
Good sales funnel don’t just provide someone with content that keeps them subscribed to your emails or entices them to make regular visits to your site. Your sales funnel answer their questions before they can even ask them, simply by shaping your message to where they are in the sales funnel.
Communication across a Sales Funnel is so important because different people expect different things from the same content. You may not be able to pack every piece with multiple layers of value, but you’ve got to start with the first step of the value ladder.
Sales funnel communication needs to change at every step, because customer expectations change at every step also. The goal of communication is to recognize all of those changes, but still speak in a way that encourages a response and steers the customer to where you want to take them.
Engaging people at the top of the funnel is perhaps the easiest spot to encourage movement down the sales funnel. Provide original and interesting content that will attract people to your MLM site. On the top of the funnel, the content is giving the product awareness, not asking for sales or even emails. It’s also when you’ll have the widest variety of interactions from all kind of channels largely because the content and language has a more “entry-level” tone.
The goal at the top of the funnel is the first step in a relationship to optimize content so it hooks your prospects, builds trust and directs them from one place to another. And that means your content should be targeting your market audience that are already interested in your kind of product or services in the MLM industry.
Digital age consumers are marketing savvy and they expect a seamless experience that caters to them. And if you aren’t speaking to them in a way that they want to be spoken to, you’re just wasting your time and as well as theirs.
So, how do you maintain control of your communication while using automation?
It will require you to put additional effort into your message to try and keep the “wow this person really understands me” experience that people expect from your product or services.
You can write a sequence of automated emails without sounding like a robot. And come across as personable while handling FAQs and directing people to the proper pages. Automation can help simplify some parts of the process, but it’ll never replace the personal connection which we don’t want to eliminate.
We want to automate as much of our marketing as possible, yet we don’t want any of it to FEEL automated.
One of the building blocks of successful marketer comes down to a simple concept: Empathy. Because good communicators think about the audience first and their own goals second. They speak to the audience rather than enticing them to buy their MLM products. More importantly, they look for opportunities to help and support their audience whether they convert or not…
All of that builds trust and trust is the foundation of any relationship. If you want to guide a prospect all the way through your sales funnel, you’ve got to stop approaching them like a stranger and focus on communicating with them like you would with a friend or a relative.
Yes, communication is an integral part of that process. It’s actually a way to establish a special relationship with your customers and eventually make them want to follow you.
Obviously, it is impossible to automate all communications. However, you can automate much of your MLM business communications with your customers and associates.
