We talked about how to get people (traffic) to your funnel and today we are going to talk about the different types of website traffic.
We can say a website is successful when it generates traffic, drives conversions, and generates the most revenue per conversion. So, driving traffic to the site becomes the primary goal for any business owners.
First, let’s talk about what actually “traffic” is. Website traffic is a number of people who come to your site through various channels. The more traffic goes to your site, the more the revenue you will make.

Although as a network marketer, your business revenue is highly impacted by driving online traffic. You should know the different strategies to bring visitors to your site.
Once you understand how each type of traffic works and how they tie together, you will have the ability to direct the right traffic to the right offers, and convert the highest number possible into buyers and repeat customers. Your one and ONLY goal is to OWN all the traffic you can. That is how you grow your list and increase your sales.
It’s important of building a list you OWN, that will help you drive qualified traffic to your MLM site at any time.
Traffic you own is the BEST kind of traffic because you can send out an email, post a message to your followers or make a blog post that will generate instant traffic. You’re going to need to leverage some of these other mediums like social media or even doing paid ads.
Because you want to engage with people to build your list. But the thing you have to realize is what Traffic you OWN and what Traffic you BORROW.
In fact, building an email list is the single most important goal of every entrepreneur to grow their online business that is geared to their specific audience. They’re creating content that speaks to the people they engage with. This is their own distribution channel and they can send out messages anytime they want with no new marketing costs. They can sell to their customers over and over again and all of that money comes back as pure profit.
There are a number of email lists that I stay subscribed to because they provide a ton of value to me. And every single time they send me an email, they are driving traffic to their site. They own that traffic because they’ve created it. They’ve built that list and they can send targeted emails to their audience with content that is relevant and specific to them that drives them back to their site.
There’s a lot of different mediums that you can leverage online to generate traffic. You can use social media ads platforms like Google Ads or Facebook Ads.
The problem with a lot of these types of traffic is you are renting space and you don’t control that traffic. It’s their space, they own the platform. Those can be taken down at any time for any reason, whether it be a guideline issue or if the company just wants to take it down.
This Traffic that you control is the type of traffic you can direct. For example, if you purchase an ad on Google, you don't own that traffic, Google does. Nevertheless, you still can control it. You can send people who clicked on your ad anywhere you want.
You control that traffic because you have the ability to tell it where to go but you don’t OWN it. But you still can leverage those traffic types to engage with people in the MLM industry.
The true fact is that you need all types of traffic to your site. You want to focus on accumulating all types of traffic and possibly you might need to run paid ads as well. There is a separate benefit of running paid ads to get traffic. You send all of your paid traffic to a squeeze page which have ONE goal and no distractions.
There is only one thing for the visitor to do on this page. When the visitors get there, they only have ONE option: give me an email address or leave. The squeeze page is a very simple page with ONE focus: to convert traffic that you control into traffic that you own.
That’s why it’s so important to convert both traffic you control and traffic you don’t control into subscribers and buyers (traffic that you own) as quickly as possible. The bigger your list, the more money you make.
Now a certain percentage of people will leave, but some of those people will give you a personal email address. After that, the traffic you control becomes traffic that you own, and you can start sending the new potential buyer through your email sequences to build trust and relationship.
This next type of traffic is where you don’t have any control over where it came from or where it goes. For example: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google, etc… The good thing about this traffic is 100% free and the critical role is to drive traffic to your site. Especially, in recent days people spent lots of time on social media platforms than any other online platform. The ONLY objective with traffic that you don’t control is to turn it into traffic that you own.
To do this, try to push all traffic that you don’t control back to your blog/article where there is a squeeze page. When people go there, the only real thing they can do is give you their email addresses. Then, they become traffic that you own, and next you can put them into your communication funnels.
However, you must generate your own traffic to be successful. In the online world, people search for information, for solutions and products. Your primary task, before you make your first sale is to provide information of high value content that people are searching for.
Someone who comes back time and again to visit your site is as important as someone who makes a purchase. The best way to keep them loyal is to give them original content because they will always return for something they cannot find elsewhere.
Communication that speaks the language of your target audience and provides a solution that encourages them to purchase. Also it allows you to understand them better. With a better knowledge of how they think, you can provide them with their desired products and services. One definitive way to make a sale is to give people what they want.
