MLMT 270: Customers Don’t Buy The Product They Buy The Outcome

MLM Trigger Episode #270

Last episode was about how to have an impact on your prospects and today let’s talk about how to create an offer that sell your product itself.

In the ever-evolving world of commerce, staying stagnant is not an option. You need to adapt, refine and expand your product offerings to stand out, grow and thrive.

Network marketers are in the business of selling and we need a strong offer. All the marketing in the world can't sell a product nobody wants — but even below average marketing can sell an irresistible offer.

Why a strong offer is so important?

In today's highly competitive online market, grabbing the attention of customers and standing out from the noise has become increasingly challenging.

To cut through the clutter your business needs to have a compelling offer that resonates with your target audience.

Start with understanding your target market’s desires in order to outperform your competitors. You want to reach that point where customers clearly understand the value you provide and are eager to say YES to pay for your MLM product.

That is the magic of selling.

Remember that customers aren’t buying a product they are buying the outcome. They are purchasing the product to improve their life not just get another thing. Another way to think about it is that your product offering should create emotion. Why? Emotion creates the sell, not logic, not information but EMOTION.

People don’t buy your products because they are connecting logically to the information. They buy because they are emotionally connected to the vision and the idea that, this product will solve their needs. There is no way to get a person more emotionally connected to a sale than expressing the outcome from the outset.

If they feel an emotional return on their investment and can attach a value to what they’re purchasing, they will immediately be invested in what you’re selling. Obviously if the customers either don’t see the value in it, don’t have a clear reason to choose your product over other competitor then, they won’t buy it.

Products and product offerings are two different things with related concepts. A product is a “thing” that your business sells. A product offering is the product plus all of the services, features and benefits that come with it, to add value to your product. It includes everything the customer gets in exchange for their money. It’s not just about the item itself—it’s your entire value proposition.

We all have competitors that have carved out a place in our industry. Product offerings can help establish a competitive edge and have the potential to increase sales volume. It allows you to leverage by adding bonuses and extras that expand the potential use of your product dramatically.

By adding your own unique spin, you leverage your product and create a competitive advantage in the market share. Your goal are— to make your offer more attractive and to capture your target customers.

Creating your own “signature solution” helps you stand out from the competition and also increase your perceived expertise in the eyes of your customers.

Example: With each bonus that you give them, you explain what it is, how it relates to their issue and how it can improve their life. This adds a layer of uniqueness and perceived value.

Getting product offerings right is key to success in your market. EXECUTION is everything and once you’ve created a strong offer, now it’s time to get it out there.
