MLMT 265: Conquer Fear And Move Forward

MLM Trigger Episode #265

Last episode was about removing resistance of your prospects. And today let’s talk about how to learn from your failure and move forward in your business.

How to overcome fear of failure and move forward in life?

Accept the negative emotional response to failure. It is normal to feel disappointed, sad, or even angry when one fails. The first step of acceptance of these emotional responses is to acknowledge the existence of these feelings.

When you feel surprised by failure, take that as a signal to be mindful and to sit with it rather than ignoring it.

Start by asking yourself these questions to prompt a different way of thinking:

1— What am I really afraid of? Writing down your fears can make them feel less overwhelming. Problems tend to look a lot smaller on the page.

2— Who am I fighting for? Sometimes your fear stops you from helping prospect you care about. Reminding yourself of this, so it can give you the push you need.

3— What’s the worst that could happen? The worst-case scenario may not be as bad as you think. In many cases, failure doesn’t change much about your current situation, so what do you have to lose?

4— What if I succeed? Think of how your life would improve if you followed through. Remember why you got into this network marketing in the first place.

5— What is the cost of not trying? Living in fear comes at a cost. If you never try anything, you could miss out on life’s great opportunities. Remember that trying and failing is often better than not trying at all.

Learning how to overcome fear of failure is easier than you think. Finding everything out for ourselves in network marketing is time consuming, painful, expensive and many time impossible. Therefore, whenever the experience of others is available… WHY not take advantage of it— learn to ad, to subtract from and modify as your own experience.

Learning through the experiences of others is an easier way to learn important lessons. And knowing what not to do is as important as knowing what to do. Apply and adapt the methods you see from the ones who overcame their failures.

The most important single reason for failure in network marketing is the lack of imagination. The lesson we can learn in our industry is that failures can be avoided or minimized is by learning from others. But eventually you may want to gamble on your own judgement. Nothing is ever set in stone. If you try something and it's not what you expected, you're allowed to make changes.

Trust yourself and profit by success and failures of others. Be courageous, and you’ll be surprised what you can accomplish. One crucial lesson to learn as well, is to really believe in your product first before you can trust your own judgement to advertise your offer.

There is solid science behind the importance of believing in your product and knowing that your it can fulfill a true need. Believing in your product make you more persuasive in what you are selling. It allows you to build better relationships with your customers, which helps ensure they'll stick around. Or we can deceive ourselves when we are financially motivated to be persuasive.

Truly great network marketers are the ones who spend time helping prospects genuinely understand how their specific product address their biggest pains. They radiate trust and confidence and only make a recommendation when they honestly feel that their offerings can help prospects achieve their goals.

However, the only way to become a great salesperson is to develop a honest interest in your prospects, listen to their wants and needs, then advise to that insight. If you do that, you’ll find it very easy to separate yourself from the crowd.

The top producers in MLM don't make a list of 200 people, don't do home meetings or anything like that. They use something equivalent of a sales funnels.
